February is here already and this is the month of romance, love, wine, roses and Valentines Day.

Saint Valentines Day, also known as Valentines Day or the Feast of Saint Valentines is observed on the February 14th each year.

Valentine greeting were popular as far back as the Middle Ages

 The oldest known Valentine is still in existence today, it was a poem written in 1415 by Charles, Duke of Orleans to his wife while he was imprisoned in the Tower of London following his capture at the Battle Of Agincourt.

Celebrating Valentines Day become popular in the 17th century and by the middle 18th century, it was common for the exchange of small token of affection or hand written notes. In the 1900 printed cards began to replace the hand written letter.

Today, according to the Greeting Card Association, an estimated 145 million Valentines Day cards are sent each year. Amazing!

What do people do to show their love & appreciation for each other on Valentines day

A romantic meal in a restaurant
Placing a notice in the newspaper
